The Severance season 2 finale drops this Friday and expectations are high after what was one of the best season finales of all time at the end of Severance’s first season. Season 2 has went places no one could have seen coming – I mean who could have guessed we would be visiting Cobel’s formerly Lumon-run and now abandoned hometown where she worked as a child and is ultimately the place that motivated her to create the whole Severance process? – so fans have relatively no idea for the direction of this final episode.
However, throughout season 2 the show has been noticeably building to quite a lot of things which we can predict may finally come to fruition in the finale. Let’s get started with this list of five predictions for the Severance season 2 finale!
1. Milchick Is Going To Turn On Lumon
… or at least be faced with the option to do so. It is likely that Cobel or a member of the Macrodata Refinement team will need Milchick’s help at some point (perhaps in an effort to help Gemma escape) and his decision to do so or not will reflect how strong his loyalty to Lumon really is.
2. We Will Find Out That Helena/Helly R Is Pregnant
The drama of season 2 between Mark, Helena and Helly R paired with the tragic backstory of Gemma’s struggle with miscarriages all point towards a possible pregnancy announcement. The accumulation of these factors would certainly make for the perfect storm of drama for season 3.
3. Dylan & Irving Will Return
This is almost a given, although there has been a bit of speculation on whether or not Irving will be returning at all for season 3, as the two are part of what make the Macrodata Refinement team work and there are many loose ends yet to be tied up for both characters such as who outie Irving was on the phone to at start of the season and the state of outie Dylan’s marriage. Many fans online have speculated a possible reboot for their severed selfs is in the cards, however, the heightened resentment which the two characters’ outies have built up in the recent episodes points to the fact that they may be looking to finally take some action against Lumon – perhaps aiding in Cobel & Mark’s anti-Lumon shenanigans?
4. Cobel Will Reveal How/Why Gemma Was Recruited By Lumon
The timing for the mystery of how Gemma came to be at Lumon feels right for the season 2 finale and may also help explain why Mark was so important to Lumon – why did they keep just him in episode 1 of season 2 and have to meet his demands to ensure that he continues his work but not the others? A now anti-Lumon Cobel with Mark and Devon in the birthing cabin offers the perfect opportunity for Cobel to do this.
5. Cold Harbour Will Be Completed (And Will Possibly Be The Closing Shot)
As much as all us Severance viewers love Gemma… we are going to need answers to the mystery that is Cold Harbour. A dramatic end to the season might just be a shot of the computer showcasing Mark finally hitting 100% on the Cold Harbour file.
